Wing outfit competition promoted at WFE

By Jiang Xingguang and Li Chenxi | Updated: 2017-11-05

Members of China's first club for wing outfit flight appeared at the 2017 World Fly-in Expo in Wuhan, central China's Hubei province on Nov 4.

Xu Kai, founder of the club, and his team members were there to promote a three-day sub-match of the 2017 Wings for Love world competition scheduled to start on Dec 23 in Jinggu of the Dai and Yi ethnic minority autonomous county, Southwestern China's Yunnan province.

Wing outfit flight, also known as short distance gliding, was born less than 20 years ago.

The largest competition of its kind in the world, Wings for Love started in 2014 in Los Angeles. It had been known as the ProBase World Cup ever since the sport began in Spain in 2008.

Wing outfit flight competition in China combines an extreme sport with public service activities, such as raising funds for children in poor rural areas.
