University freshmen visit WHDZ

Updated: 2017-12-20

More than 40 freshmen from the School of Automotive Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Hubei province, on Dec 15.

Students visited the assembly plant of Dongfeng Fengshen automobiles, Tanghu Theater, South Taizihu Innovation Valley and the public service center in the zone.

Automated assembly lines and unmanned logistics vehicles appeared to impress the students.

“I have never visited any front-line workshop before, and today we know how advanced the automated production technology is,” said Wang Zhenyu, a student from Qingdao, Shandong province.

Zheng Yinglong, who lives in Xinzhou district in Wuhan, was particularly excited after visiting Tanghu Theater. He said that he just knew WHDZ has a “capital of automobiles”, but claimed not to know about the theater that is also there.

Students also visited South Taizihu Innovation Valley and the zone’s public service center, to learn about entrepreneurship and experience efficient government administration.

This year, Wuhan introduced preferential policies, such as offering housing subsidies to keep highly-skilled workers. WHDZ arranged this activity to let students know more about Wuhan, as well as the zone.
