WUST students visit WHDZ

Fifty students from Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Hubei province, on Jan 5, to learn about the zone’s economic and social development, as well as employment and entrepreneurship policies for university students.

The students visited South Taizihu Innovation Valley, Quanlinan community for university students, the cultural center for staff members, and the public service center in the zone.

At South Taizihu Innovation Valley in WHDZ, students visited some companies involved in fields including automobiles and auto parts, electronic manufacturing, and intelligent equipment, learning the huge changes happening in companies brought about by intelligent manufacturing technologies.

Students then visited Quanlinan community for university students, which is the first community designed for university students in Wuhan, and offers comprehensive facilities, including WiFi, a library and a gym. 

At present, the community has offered 1,300 apartments for students. WHDZ will improve the community’s facilities including transportation, the environment, and services, to provide a better living and working environment for students.

In addition, students visited Tanghu multi-functional cultural center for staff members, which is the first of its kind in the country, consisting of a theater, an art museum and a library.

Students also visited the zone’s public service center, to learn about employment and entrepreneurship policies in WHDZ.
