A delegation from Shanghai Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), central China’s Hubei province, on Jan 25, to deepen cooperation between both sides in a variety of areas.

Hu Yabo, Party secretary of the zone, welcomed and held a meeting with the delegation.

He introduced the economic and social development of WHDZ at the meeting, pointing out that after 27 years of development, the zone has formed an industrial cluster supported by automobiles, auto parts, electronics, biomedicine and other industries.

The industrial output value of WHDZ accounts for about one quarter of the city's total, and it is currently transforming and upgrading its traditional manufacturing industry and building itself into a world-renowned “capital of automobiles”, said Hu.

Yang Ye, director of Shanghai Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, praised the development of WHDZ and introduced the growth of Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone.

She said that WHDZ has made bold moves in areas such as industrial integration and administrative system reforms in recent years, receiving much investment and attracting a large number of high-end professionals.

Some advanced concepts and practices of WHDZ are worth learning, added Yang.

A mutual-visit mechanism is expected to be established between the two zones, in order to deepen ties and promote mutual development.
