Hu Yabo, secretary of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone's work committee, witnessed the environment improvement and lake treatment works in the zone, on Aug 4.
Hu visited the survey treatment works of several lakes in the zone, including Tanghu Lake, Lanni Lake, and Northwest Lake.
Treatment of lakes is a course that will benefit the later generations, said Hu, we need to control the source of sewage, and apply intelligent means to treat pollution in lakes, such as by establishing a database of sources.
Lakes to the city are like eyes to people, therefore everyone should protect lakes like they protect their eyes, added Hu.
This year, the zone plans to invest 300 million yuan ($43.99 million) in lake treatment.
