Updated: 2018-08-22

The 2018 China automobile and motorcycle sports games will be held at Wuhan Sports Center, which is located in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Hubei province, from Oct 2 to 7, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Aug 21.

Hosted by the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of People's Republic of China (CAMF), Wuhan municipal people's government, and Hubei Administration of Sport, the event is expected to be the country's largest ever for the automobile and motorcycle sports field, with the largest number and widest range of games.

The event can be divided into three major sections –– automobile and motorcycle games, automobile and motorcycle performances, and cultural events.

The automobile and motorcycle games include seven different events –– the World Touring Car Championship, the China Touring Car Championship, the FIA F4 Championship, the China Truck Racing Championship, the China GT Championship, the China Endurance Championship, and the China Drift Championship, among which two are international-level competitions.

In addition, there will be a number of stunt shows during the event involving automobiles and motorcycles. There will also be vehicle exhibitions, an international music festival and gourmet food festival to provide the widest possible range of activities for visitors.

The past auto sports events only involved one racing, and this comprehensive event is the first ever in the country, said Zhan Guojun, chairman of CAMF.

The press conference announced the release of the event schedule, with tickets for the games due to go on sale in early September.
