Updated: 2018-12-14

A total of 250,000 volunteers will help assist the organizers of the 7th Military World Games, which will be held in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, from Oct 18 to 27 in 2019, according to an announcement made by the event's executive commission on Dec 3.

The recruitment of volunteers for the event started in April this year, with 50,000 required to assist with the competitions.

A total of 12,700 university and college students and 52 volunteers have already been recruited to assist with the event.

The executive commission of the games has reached primary cooperation agreements with seven national volunteer organizations, including the Red Cross Society of China Wuhan Branch and Blue Sky Rescue.

An additional 200,000 volunteers are expected to offer their services to the city during the event, with volunteers working at tourist attractions, assisting local businesses and helping direct traffic around the city.

A second round of recruitment for volunteers will start in February 2019.
