Jobseekers flock to WHDZ recruitment event

A large recruitment event was held at Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, on Feb 15, the first jobs fair held in the zone following the Spring Festival holiday.

Over 200 companies from the city, with most based in WHDZ, participated in the jobs fair, offering more than 10,000 vacancies.

Positions offered included openings for project managers, engineers, financial staff, designers, and sales personnel, involving industries such as automobile and auto parts manufacturing, as well as electronics and the service sector.

Over the past year, 219,000 people in the city's urban and rural areas found employment, with the number hitting a new high, according to the city's human resources department.

From early February to mid-April, the city will organize more than 180 recruitment events, with 11,000 companies offering some 250,000 job opportunities.
