A training course for referees was introduced at the Wuhan Sports Center in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on July 27.

The training is in preparation for swimming competitions that will be held in the WHDZ as part of the 7th Military World Games in October in the city. A total of 66 referees are needed for the event, 28 of which will be from Hubei province.

The class was offered to Hubei referees who signed up to participate in the event. Only 28 of 65 candidates will be selected to take part in the event.

Hua Minyuan, secretary-general of the council of referees of the Chinese Swimming Association, also held a class for participants in which he explained the latest rules of the Fédération Internationale de Natation Association (FINA).

Zhang Shaoqiong, secretary-general of the council of referees of the Hubei swimming association, said that after the training, Hubei referees will know better about FINA rules, which will greatly help them work during the event.
