A diving competition to test facilities for the 2019 Military World Games was held at the Wuhan Sports Center in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in the capital of Central China's Hubei province, Aug 13.

A total of 25 athletes and 16 judges participated in the one-day test, which featured 10 events, including the men’s and women’s 3-meter and 10 m springboard events.

More than 100 volunteers from China University of Geosciences provided services throughout the event.

The test was held in preparation for the 2019 Military World Games, which will be held in Wuhan in October.

According to Yang Xiaoping, an official responsible for the diving games, the event tested the venue’s ability to host a diving competition, including the springboard and the timing and scoring equipment.

The infrastructure at the venue is built in accordance with international standards, said Yang. The aquatic center has held several large games, including the 2011 National Swimming Championships and the 2018 FINA Diving World Cup.
