It produces millions of vehicles and air conditioners each year.

It is hailed as China’s automobile industrial hub.

It is a robust economic engine in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province.

It is the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ).

Located in southwest of Wuhan city, the WHDZ, also known as Hannan, has shown its strength in the automobile and home appliance industries and is gearing up to boost its innovative development.

It is home to a number of research and development centers and quality inspection institutes, including the Technical Center of Dongfeng Motor Co, a R&D center of Cummins and a national quality supervision and inspection center for new energy vehicles.

Intelligent manufacturing is given full play here. For example, the automation rate for welding  reached 99 percent at the third factory of Dongfeng Motor. Workers there say it only takes 60 seconds to completely weld a car.
