A delegation from the State-own China Co-op Group, headed by Wang Zhengwei, its deputy general manager, visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province, on Aug 14.
Peng Hao, director of the administrative committee of WHDZ, met with the delegation and the two parties discussed the construction of a regional headquarters in the zone for GXYJ.com, an online trading platform for agricultural products.
GXYJ.com is a rural e-commerce platform developed by China Co-op. It focuses on integrating industrial chains and supply chains and providing comprehensive services for producers and buyers, such as wholesale business-to-business, or B2Be.
A subsidiary of China Co-op which currently runs the platform signed a cooperation agreement with WHDZ on May 18, to set up the Central China headquarters of GXYJ.com in the zone.
The project will cost about 3 billion yuan ($427 million) and consist of nine centers, including trade centers for agricultural products and land transfers, an exhibition and convention center, a financial service center and a big data center.
According to the authorities, the project is expected to be completed and start operating in five years, with an annual turnover topping 380 billion yuan.
At the meeting, the two parties reached an agreement to promote the construction of the project and build it into a State-level e-commerce trade center for agricultural products.
