A team formed by three students from No 1 Middle School in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) won the Youth Design Contest at the 2019 World Robot Conference held in Beijing on Aug 20-25.

Officials said the school had outstanding results in a series of domestic robot and computer competitions earlier this year.

The World Robot Conference, themed on an "Intelligent Ecosystem for a New Open Era", was hosted by the Beijing Municipal People’s government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Association for Science and Technology.

The event included forums, exhibitions and contests, attracting nearly 300,000 visitors.

Organizers said that more than 1,000 teams from over 20 countries and regions took part in more than 30 contests, covering a wide range of categories, such as BCI controlled robots, industrial robots, and tri-co robots.
