A free medical consultancy and treatment activity was held in Xianglong community in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) on Sept 5.

Doctors from the Tunkou community healthcare center and the Union Hospital Affiliated with the Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology met with locals and offered free medicine to patients.

A free self-service blood-testing machine was also available at the community’s service center.

“It can test several blood indexes at once and the results will be sent to my mobile phone within a few seconds,” said Huang Zhixiang, a 66-year-old local.

He said it is the first time such a device has been available in the community.
