Artworks for the main venues of the 7th Military World Games passed official examination on Sept 14.

A panel of experts evaluated and approved a series of artworks, including a traditional Chinese painting themed on the Great Wall and a sculpture of Sun Wu, a politician who lived during the Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC), at the Wuhan Sports Center in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ).

Government officials, including Peng Hao, chief of the WHDZ, and Zhang Shihua, director of Wuhan’s publicity department, presented certificates to artists whose works were being displayed at the center.

Zhang said the artworks perfectly matched the style of the venues and gave them a cultural touch. They are meant to promote Chinese culture and enhance Hubei’s profile during the games, which will begin on Oct 18 in Wuhan.
