A promotional event for attracting investment was held in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) on Sept 22.

More than 40 projects receiving a total of 109 billion yuan ($15.34 bilion) in investment were signed. The projects involved intelligent connected vehicles, a new generation of information technology, new energy, new materials, testing and inspection, sci-tech incubation, and artificial intelligence.

The WHDZ, considered China’s automobile hub, plays a key role in the industrial and economic development of Wuhan.

The zone reported 1.05 million in new car sales in 2018, and regional gross production was valued at 165.6 billion.

The WHDZ ranked first in the central western region and 12th nationwide in an evaluation of national-level development zones conducted by the Ministry of Commerce in 2018.

The zone is making great efforts to promote the development of a “new generation” automobile industry involving core automobile parts, R&D and design, intelligent connection, and new energy.
