Dongfeng launches sci-tech innovation week

The 4th sci-tech innovation week of Dongfeng Motor Corporation Technical Center kicked off in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone on Sept 23 and runs to Sept 27, according to its organizers.

The event focuses on the technological research and applications of lightweight, electric, intelligent, internet-connected and sharing automobiles.

It consists of 14 technical forums, an exhibition of more than 100 new technical products, with more than 40 experts taking part.

A special experience area has also been set up for intelligent driving, electric racing cars, fuel cell vehicles and low wind resistance vehicles.

At the opening ceremony, Zhu Yanfeng, chairman of Dongfeng, also unveiled the name plates for a Dongfeng-Tencent internet of vehicles safety laboratory, the Dongfeng-China Mobile 5G IoV laboratory and a Dongfeng united laboratory.

A new award for outstanding innovative contributions was set up for the first time during the event.

It aims to honor outstanding teams that make breakthroughs in core technologies. Its highest award is worth 1 million yuan ($140,200).
