Student Yang Chang wins bronze medal in Military Games

Yang Chang, an undergraduate majoring in sports training at Shanxi University, won the bronze medal in the women’s 400m individual medley at the 7th Military World Games on Oct 19.

Yang won the medal at the games – being staged in the central Hebei province city of Wuhan on Oct 18-27 – with a time of 4 minutes, 46.77 seconds.

Yang will also represent China in other events, competing for medals in the women’s 200m medley and the 100m breaststroke.

Additionally, another two teachers from Shanxi University are also participating in the 10-day event in Wuhan.

Professor Chen Anping, dean of the School of Physical Education, is serving as a referee for the diving competitions and attended the opening ceremony of the event.

Elsewhere, Associate Professor Wang Ting from the School of Physical Education, coached the Chinese PLA Bayi archery team for the archery competitions.
