Thousands of WHDZ volunteers serve Military World Games

Some 6,200 volunteers from the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone -- known commonly as the WHDZ -- have gladly provided their services for the ongoing 7th CISM Military World Games being held in the city of Wuhan, according to the official WeChat account of the WHDZ.

The games, which kickstarted on Oct 18, run through to Oct 27.

The Military World Games is a multi-sport event for military sportspeople, organized by the International Military Sports Council, or CISM. The quadrennial event was firstly held in Rome in Italy in September 1995.

The venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 7th CISM Military World Games, the WHDZ is hosting competitions such as swimming, diving, and women's volleyball.

Officials said that every day, a large number of spectators are coming to watch the games in the WHDZ.

They added that the volunteers are providing various invaluable services to foreign tourists, including help them find events and sites around the city.
