The new Wuhan-Shiyan high-speed railway is scheduled to open on Nov 29, according to a report in the Changjiang Daily.

The line -- running from Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province to Shiyan in Hubei -- has a top design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

It will pass through tourist attractions including the Yellow Crane Tower, the Wudang Mountains and Danjiangkou Reservoir.

With the launch of the high-speed railway, the travel time from Wuhan to Shiyan will be shortened to two hours, while the travel time from Wuhan to Xiangyang will be shortened to roughly one hour.

According to officials, the construction work on the high-speed railway began on Dec 2, 2015.

Rail officials said intelligent robot construction was employed in the construction of the railway.

By applying China's first industrial robot high-speed railway intelligent production line, the quality and efficiency of the construction was greatly improved and component tolerances were kept below 2 millimeters.

Officials said it will be the first high-speed railway running in the mountainous areas of the Qinling Mountains and Daba Mountains, developing a new economic corridor between the central and western parts of Hubei province.
