The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (also known as WHDZ) is making efforts in expanding its inspection and testing services, with plans for an industrial park to be settled in the zone soon, according to the official website of the WHDZ.

WHDZ officials said the addition would be called the National Inspection and Testing High-tech Service Industry Cluster Wuhan Park. They said it would be centered on an intelligent networked test field.

According to the plan, it will cover an area of more than 133 hectares and develop an inspection and testing industry system that is compatible with the WHDZ and Wuhan city's pillar industries and strategic emerging industries.

The park plans to introduce first-class international inspection and testing institutions -- to form an inspection and testing service industry center based in Wuhan, which will provide services for Central China and the whole country.

At present, there are some 100 inspection and testing institutions in the WHDZ, covering the fields of automobiles and parts, electronics, engineering, environmental protection, food, medical health, life and health.

On completion, the park will focus on the development of inspection and testing services.

These will be in the fields of new energy and intelligent connected cars, auto parts, general aviation, bridge steel structures, electronics, intelligent manufacturing (robot manufacturing) and construction engineering (energy saving and environmental protection).

In September, the Wuhan Park was officially unveiled, and 10 lead industry inspection and testing institutions reached agreements in connection to the park.
