Wuhan soon to stage five New Year concerts

Wuhan, capital city of Central China’s Hubei province, is to stage five concerts in celebration of New Year, according to local media reports.

2020 will mark the 180th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the great Russian composer of the romantic period.

The Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Russia’s top orchestras, will give a concert in honor of Tchaikovsky on Jan 3, 2020. It will be the orchestra’s first performance in Wuhan city.

Also, the symphony orchestra from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory will give a tribute concert in Wuhan on Jan 10.

On Jan 7, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra will stage a concert highlighting musical pieces composed by another great Russian composer Aram Ilitch Khatchaturian.

Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra will give two concerts on Jan 17 and 18.
