Wuhan city hosts big data summit

The Wuhan Big Data Summit 2019 brought together government officials, experts and academics in big data and business representatives in the capital city of central Hubei province on Dec 27, according to local media reports.

They discussed the current development and future direction of big data, the smart city, data security, artificial intelligence and other areas.

A total of 28 topical big data application scenarios were released by the Wuhan government service and big data bureau during the summit.

These included the Wuhan municipal government's emergency command platform, 24-hour self-service government services, a video image analysis system and a large passenger flow risk monitoring system.

The summit also saw the establishment of the Wuhan Big Data Association Training Center.

Officials said the center is expected to provide training, certification, technical consulting and services to big data companies, governments and various sectors.
