An esports racing laboratory has been set up at the China Racing Academy of Jianghan University, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), according to a report in the Changjiang Daily.

The WHDZ laboratory has introduced three levels of racing simulators for domestic esports car races, world-class races and data collection for scientific research.

The simulators can be used for daily teaching, internships, training and preparation of esports teams, as well as to help with the host of top domestic and foreign esports events.

The software used in the racing simulator covers all the races, venues, tracks and models.

Of these, a three-screen panoramic four-axis simulator for scientific research data collection is currently the most advanced racing simulator in China, which can represent a driving scene and collect relevant data about the driver's psychology, physiology and driving skills set.

The China Racing Academy, founded in June 2018, is the first racing academy in China and co-established by Jianghan University, the WHDZ, Wuhan sports bureau and the China Automobile and Motorcycle Federation.

In 2019, the academy recruited its first batch of 50 students from Hubei and Guangdong provinces. The students were divided into two majors: racing events and racing engineering.
