Wuhan Railway Station achieves full 5G coverage

Updated: 2020-01-17

Wuhan Railway Station in Wuhan, capital city of central Hubei province, has achieved full 5G coverage, providing further convenience for railway passengers, according to a report in the Hubei Daily.

Passengers with 5G network-supported mobile phones can automatically receive 5G signals when entering the station. Passengers whose mobile phone do not support 5G can use the 5G converter equipped in the station to connect to WiFi.

According to the staff members at the railway station, the internet speed of the 5G network has been greatly improved compared with the past, just in time for the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush.

Two temporary identification self-service printers have been installed in the station, they said.

Passengers only need to enter their own ID card number and after face recognition, a temporary passenger ticket purchase/boarding identification certificate will be printed. The process takes merely 30 seconds and the period of validity is one day.

Also, an Automated External Defibrillator – or AED – for cardiac emergencies was recently installed at Wuhan Railway Station. Rail officials said that providing AEDs in public places was an initiative designed to improve the success rate of rescues.
