Chen Yuanchao, a resident of Longhu community in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), volunteered to help with coronavirus prevention and control measures in his community, winning applause from Wuhan residents, WHDZ officials said.
Chen is currently an undergraduate at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and often participates in voluntary activities on campus.
Chen said he will be mainly responsible for assisting the community staff members conduct telephone investigations.
The main investigation is to check whether there is anyone who has got a fever in each household, whether they have left Wuhan, or if they need help.
To date, 81 residents in Longhu community including Chen have been engaged in the coronavirus prevention and control measures in the community.
