Updated: 2020-02-06

A total of 50 MPV cars -- also known as multi purpose vehicles, or people carriers -- were donated to the Novel Coronavirus Epidemic Prevention and Control Command in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) on Feb 3 by leading car manufacturer Geely Auto, according to WHDZ officials.

They said the vehicles will effectively help out with the zone's coronavirus prevention and control materials allocations.

Geely Auto has also donated 34 cars to the cities of  Guiyang in Guizhou province, Xi'an in Shaanxi province, and Taizhou in Zhejiang province to give assistance in combating the epidemic.
