WHDZ logistics center receives emergency supplies

Updated: 2020-02-11

The Baowan Logistics center located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (also known as WHDZ) received emergency supplies from Sichuan province on Feb 9, according to WHDZ officials.

The shipment marked the first batch of emergency supplies received by the center as a transfer station for emergency goods entering Hubei province, they added.

A new transfer station system for emergency supplies was developed, in the move towards the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, or NCP.

Officials said five logistic centers -- in Wuhan, Ezhou and Xiangyang -- were selected by the Hubei NCP Infection Prevention and Control Headquarters to serve as transfer stations for goods and materials delivered to Hubei province.

In order to ensure the safety and isolation of passengers and cargo and avoid infection, transfer stations are equipped with quarantine areas, including a parking area for trucks and a rest area for passengers and drivers.

All vehicles entering the logistics center must undergo inspection and verification and will all be disinfected and sterilized.

The driver and crew must take a temperature measurement, then proceed on the designated route, stop at the designated station, and wait for the loading and unloading.
