WHDZ hospital makes great strides in virus control efforts

Hannan Ankang Hospital in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has been making great strides in its novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control, according to the official WeChat account of the WHDZ.

The hospital is a comprehensive medical institution, mainly serving the common and chronic diseases of community residents.

Since the coronavirus outbreak, epidemic prevention and control has become a priority for the hospital.

Except for few medical workers who failed to get to Wuhan due to the lockdown of that city on Jan 23, most of the medical workers at the hospital remained working during the Spring Festival period, giving medical services to community residents in the WHDZ.

Starting Jan 22, under the Hubei Chinese Medicine Prevention and Treatment Program for the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Infection, staff members of the hospital have made more than 200 sachets of traditional Chinese medicine decoction daily and provided it to employees, patients and their family members for free.

The hospital also distributed more than 2,000 medical masks to patients and their families -- and donated medical masks and supplies to nearby neighborhoods and communities.

For more than 10 days, medical staff measured and recorded the body temperatures of patients and prevented potential safety hazards.

Due to the small number of people and many outstanding tasks, they worked overtime and often worked until the early hours of the morning.
