Supply contracts worth nearly 200 million yuan ($28.26 million) were signed by 13 key companies at a promotional event held on June 23 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- in Wuhan city in Central China's Hubei province -- according to WHDZ officials.

The companies included Wuhan Changli Glass Co, Wuhan Sunac Jingkai Co and CCCC Second Harbour Engineering Co.

The promotion, featuring building materials, marked the first supply and demand matchmaking event held in WHDZ.

According to WHDZ officials, the zone is a front runner in industrial development.

They hoped that such events would help resident businesses to thrive after the COVID-19 pandemic.
