Wuhan reports holiday tourism revenue of 9.22b yuan

The city of Wuhan – capital of Central China's Hubei province – is seeing a steady rebound in its tourism industry, with revenue generated by the sector during the combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday hitting 9.22 billion yuan ($1.38 billion), according to local media reports.

The figure was 73.18 percent of the total for the same period last year.

During the eight-day break, a total of 18.82 million trips were made to Wuhan, 83.21 percent of the level for last year's break.

A total of 150,000 trips were made to the city's seven key scenic spots, which included the Yellow Crane Tower.

Night tours and red tourism have become new highlights, with the 15 special night tour projects launched by the city received 1.37 million tourists during the holiday.

The city hosted 23 exhibitions themed on patriotism and 15 social education activities, attracting an audience of more than 220,000.
