Construction work on seven major projects from emerging industries has begun in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, with a groundbreaking ceremony held on Oct 27, according to local media reports.
The seven projects, covering strategic emerging areas such as the digital economy, new energy, next-generation automotive general aviation, and the modern service industry, have attracted a total investment of 25.1 billion yuan ($3.76 billion).
China Electronics Corporation's (CEC) Central China Digital Economy Industrial Park project is one of the projects.
The project, drawing an investment of 10 billion yuan, will develop a world-class technology industrial park.
It plans to introduce the CEC Central China R&D Center, the CEC Industry Digital Research Institute, and the CEC Digital Industry Alliance, and introduce enterprises in industries including intelligent networks, information technology application innovation, big data, artificial intelligence, and digital city R&D.
Also, it will actively organize related training sessions and competitions with the goal of cultivating new talents.
The project is expected to be completed in 2024. It is expected to provide job opportunities for 150,000 people and achieve an annual output value of 100 billion yuan.
