Major sports projects have been promoted at the 2020 China Hubei Sports Industry Exchange Conference, which was held in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Oct 31.

Representatives of WHDZ gave detailed introductions to key upcoming sports projects in the development zone, including the 2021 World Fly-in Expo, the 2021 China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Festival, and Hannan Fitness Center.

The conference, part of the Wuhan Youth Sports Expo, invited well-known domestic experts and scholars in areas like economics, education, and sports to give keynote speeches and to announce new models and technologies for the national sports industry.

The Wuhan Youth Sports Expo is the first professional exhibition in China to focus on youth and to cultivate and expand youth sports. It is an important platform integrating the exhibition and trade of sporting goods aimed at young people, brand promotion, and youth sports cultural experiences.

In addition to the conference, a series of activities will be held during the expo, such as the 2020 Annual Meeting of National Sports Goods Standardization Technical Committee, and children's soccer games.

In 2019, WHDZ was named a National Sports Industry Demonstration Base by the General Administration of Sport, becoming the second site in the province and the first in Wuhan to receive the honor.

Each year, the zone holds more than 40 top international and domestic competitions. The sports industry has driven nearly 20 billion yuan ($2.98 billion) in revenue for related industries.
