WHDZ to introduce major health projects worth 250m yuan

Major health projects worth 250 million yuan ($38 million) are to be developed in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, it's been announced at a sub-forum of the 20th Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China.

The Yongqiang Fiber project, developed by Wuhan Yongqaing Fiber Co, is set to draw an investment of 100 million yuan.

The project plans to purchase one SMMS spun-bonded and melt-blown non-woven fabric production line, of which the core components are imported from the United States and some products are exported overseas. The project's products include the raw materials used in the production of masks.

After being put into production, it is expected to realize a planned annual output of 8,000 tons and an annual sales revenue of 600 million yuan.

The Kangshou Polymer Medical Material project, developed by Wuhan Kangshou Medical Material Co, will draw an investment of 150 million yuan.

The project plans to build an aseptic production workshop of 3,000 square meters, and purchase more than 200 items of equipment such as mask production lines. It plans to develop a constant temperature and humidity personal protection system. Some of its products will be exported overseas.

After 30 years of development, WHDZ has formed an industrial cluster dominated by automobiles and parts, electronic appliances, and biomedicine. It has attracted 73 Fortune Global 500 companies so far.

The development zone ranks 10th among the 219 national level development zones in terms of its comprehensive strength.

In recent years, WHDZ has been expanding its layout in the big health industry, focusing on biomedicine and medical equipment to develop a big health industry hub integrating R&D, production and logistics.
