The city of Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province, has been selected as one of 2020 China's Best Cities for Employment Promotion, as announced at an award ceremony held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 27.

In addition to Wuhan, the other cities on the list include Dongguan, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Wuxi.

The selection was part of the China Best Employer Awards, which were co-launched by zhaopin.com and the Institute of Social Science Survey, Peking University.

The selection event has been held for 16 consecutive years and is one of the most authoritative and credible brand lists in the domestic human resources field.

This year's newly-established 2020 China's Best Cities for Employment Promotion list was compiled using four categories: talent attractiveness, talent retention rate, talent vitality, and the recruitment resilience of small, medium and micro enterprises.

In 2020, Wuhan has comprehensively upgraded its talent attractiveness and introduced a series of related policies.

The Guidance on Employment and Entrepreneurship Services for College Graduates was released to simplify and optimize the process of employment and entrepreneurship services and implement online application and processing.

As of the end of October, 186,900 people found employment, and the employment scale recovered to more than 85 percent of the same period in 2019.

The registered urban unemployment rate was 3.18 percent, within the target value of 3.6 percent.
