Details released at a digital economy development promotion conference held on Dec 16 show that Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, has been making good progress in developing its digital economy industry, according to local media reports.

The conference focused on the growth of digital economy, the development direction and path of the digital economy industry, and the opportunities and challenges of the future development of digital economy.

Well-known domestic experts and scholars, government leaders, and corporate executives in the field of digital economy were invited to attend the conference.

Although affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, WHDZ still maintains a steady development. Since the beginning of this year, the amount of investment in related industrial chain projects has reached 56.46 billion yuan ($8.64 billion).

Currently, the development zone is actively building a digital economy industrial cluster. After the launch of JD Cloud, it began a program of in-depth cooperation in the development of its digital economy industry.

JD Cloud is a cloud computing integrated service provider under JD Group, with world-leading cloud computing technology and a complete service platform. Relying on JD Group's long-term business practice and technology accumulation in cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things and mobile Internet applications, it is committed to building a socialized cloud service platform.

The conference event also witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between JD Cloud and Hubei Culture & Tourism Investment Group.

The two parties will rely on JD's industrial systems, cultural service resources, and the social value of the entire chain to jointly promote the expansion and strengthening of the cultural industry in Hubei province and enhance the competitiveness of the cultural industry.
