Auto Valley of China releases semi-annual report

A government meeting was held on Sept 9 in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ, also known as Auto Valley of China), at which the zone's semi-annual report was officially released.

During the first half of 2021, the regional GDP saw a year-on-year increase of 33.6 percent, higher than the expected number by 26.1 percentage points. Meanwhile, the local general public budget revenue was up by 77.7 percent year-on-year, 46.9 percentage points higher than expected.

Compared with 2020, most indicators saw rapid growth, with industrial output value, building output value, fixed asset investment, and total retail sales of consumer goods in Hannan district surging by 51.7 percent, 49.51 percent, 34.74 percent, and 16.5 percent respectively year-on-year.

Agreements for Industrial chain projects signed over the first six months in the district were worth 82.49 billion yuan ($12.37 billion), while about 45.49 billion worth of industrial projects were established in the district.

Also worth noting is the 16.65 billion yuan of imports and exports in the district, a year-on-year increase of 147 percent.
