After the National Day holiday, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has entered a decisive period that will determine its performance in the fourth quarter of this year.

In this regard, Liu Ziqing, secretary of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) work committee, launched a research into the zone's major enterprises in Junshan New City on Oct 10.

As one of Hubei province's largest automobile manufacturers, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co stood out in the auto market during the first half of 2021 and reported sales of 421,911 vehicles, with the growth rate hitting 35 percent.

At the company's workshop, a vehicle leaves the production line every 50.1 seconds, and 70 such vehicles are driven out of the workshop every hour.

Hydrogen energy is dubbed the most promising secondary energy source of the 21st century, and WHDZ has taken the lead at this field in Hubei and has attracted more than 10 leading hydrogen fuel cell manufacturers to the zone.

Among them, Wuhan Lyudong Hydrogen Energy Technology Co is a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation Hydrogen Energy Co, which is in charge of the State Power Investment Co's Central China hydrogen energy research center project.

One official from the firm said that they will accelerate the construction of the hydrogen energy industrial park, promote the gathering of upstream and downstream enterprises, make further explorations into hydrogen energy application scenarios, and help the development zone build a world-class hydrogen energy industrial base.

The government of the zone will coordinate efforts with enterprises based in the zone to raise their products' market competency, and cope with uncertainties from the external environment.
