In accordance with China's measures to protect and restore the Yangtze River, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has been prioritizing ecological construction and steadily adhering to the principle that "lucid mountains and lush water are invaluable assets".

The past 30 years has seen Longling Mountain change from an abandoned mine into China's first autonomous driving park. A national 4A-level tourist site will also be created this year.

City supporting infrastructure is another focus of the zone, and 192,000 square meters of roads have now been repaired, with 170,000 sq m of green space along the road debuting in the zone.

WHDZ holds more than 40 top international and national sporting events and receives some 10 million visitors on average every year.

As a main venue of the 7th CISM Military World Games, the zone has held a slew of sporting events that have captured the world's attention. The China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Festival that has been held in the zone several times has let to seven projects being established in the zone.

In addition, the World Fly-in Expo has established a permanent venue in WHDZ, helping the general aviation industry thrive.
