A cultural research activity took place in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on May 29. Esteemed historians and other experts were invited to participate and find the connection between Junshan New City and the Three Kingdoms period (220-280).

Liu Ziqing, secretary of WEDZ's working committee, participated in the research and highlighted the zone's profound history and rich culture. While the zone is entering a new stage of development, it is important to preserve its original culture and history, from which people can draw the power and wisdom to move forward, Liu said.

The secretary also urged the establishment of a theme park based on the historical and cultural relics to attract tourists from throughout China.

Xu Erming, professor with Renmin University of China, said that in the Battle of Chibi, the allied fleet of Sun Quan and Liu Bei deployed their military forces on Chiji Mountain in the south of the Yangtze River, and Shamao Mountain, Dajun Mountain and Xiaojun Mountain in the north of the river – resulting in the names "Dajun Mountain" and "Xiaojun Mountain".

Xia Zengmin, professor at the College of Marxism of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, said he believes that the Battle of Chibi actually involved more than one battle.
