The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) signed a strategic cooperation contract with the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on June 29, the last day of the 2022 China Auto Supply Chain Conference and the first China New Energy Vehicle (NEV) and Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) Ecosystem Meeting.

The two sides will deepen collaboration in investment and business attraction, strategic consultation and talent cultivation. The association promised to establish a strategic partnership with WEDZ, and further modernize the zone's automobile manufacturing and service industrial chain, which will inject vitality into the zone's auto industry.

Founded in Beijing in May 1987, CAAM is a non-profit social organization formed based on the principle of equality and volunteering. It consists of enterprises and organizations engaged in the production and management of automobiles, auto components and vehicle-related industries. So far, it has nearly 2,700 member entities.

According to the contract, CAAM will leverage its influence and resources in the auto industry to help WEDZ hold industrial meetings and related activities, polish the "Auto Valley" brand, and work on the electric and intelligent transformation of the zone's auto industry.

The two sides will also be committed to building a more secure auto industrial chain for the nation.
