Wuhan City Cultural Service Group Co – a subsidiary of Wuhan Cultural Investment Development Group Co – was established on June 29 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
Addressing needs related to city functions and cultural services in the digital era, the new firm will follow a market-oriented operation principle and focus on cultural property management, the operation of public cultural facilities and related services, energy-saving technologies, cultural makerspaces, and the promotion of digital culture.
The firm hopes to generate revenue of over 1 billion yuan ($149.2 million) annually after three to five years of development and strives to become a top provider of city cultural operation services.
In recent years, many subsidiaries and projects of Wuhan Cultural Investment Development Group Co have been established in WEDZ, including the Digital Publishing Base of Huazhong Intelligent Valley project and the digitalization programs of WEDZ's library, cultural museum and regular museum.
At the unveiling ceremony that day, the new firm also signed cooperation contracts with the first group of nine corporations.
