National auto supply chain conference concludes

The 2022 China Auto Supply Chain Conference and the first China New Energy Vehicle (NEV) and Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) Ecosystem Meeting that lasted for three days in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) concluded on June 29. They featured speeches made by more than 100 industry insiders and detailed reports from more than 100 mainstream media outlets.

China's automobile supply chain has been hit by both natural and manmade setbacks, for which building a more secure and resilient supply chain system and a brand-new industrial ecosystem has become ever more important. 

The convention has attracted senior government officials, top experts and representatives from auto heavyweights, and featured one strategic summit, one main forum and six sub-forums. Cor challenges faced by the industrial supply chain, the electric transformation of the supply chain, and other significant issues were discussed.

During the meeting, agreements for 56 auto supply chain projects worth 112.02 billion yuan ($16.74 billion) were signed in Wuhan, among which 11 were signed in WEDZ, with total investment exceeding 50 billion yuan. In addition, the meeting also recognized 30 outstanding auto supply chain innovative achievements.
