VOYAH – the premium electric vehicle brand of Dongfeng Motor – released its latest performance: In August alone, it delivered 2,429 new cars, up 4.9 times year-on-year. It also maintained double-digit growth in the past three months, and has collectively sold 17,000 cars.
Dongfeng is based in the Wuhan Economic &Technological Development Zone or WEDZ, situated in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province.
The automaker has drafted a plan which envisages that in the next five years it will invest up to 100 billion yuan ($14.47 billion) in product research. The goals set include selling one million new energy vehicles, commercial vehicles and independently developed passenger cars, respectively during the period.
In 2021, Dongfeng's R&D expenditure rose by 8.4 percent. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the firm's sci-tech personnel are projected to account for one fifth of the total workforce. In addition, the numbers of young, professional, international and knowledge-based staff members are predicted to double.
