The west branch of Wuhan Children's Hospital was officially inaugurated recently in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).

Funded by the zone's government and operated by the hospital, the branch will provide medical services especially for children and women. It will also serve as a major public sanitary institution of the WEDZ.

The branch is expected to open to the public by the end of this year and it will become the largest of its kind in southwest Wuhan, serving about two million people.

Wuhan Children's Hospital is a large-scale tertiary class-A hospital for maternity and children's healthcare, integrating medical services, teaching R&D and rehabilitation.

Its west branch includes a four-floor outpatient building and a 12-floor inpatient building with 660 beds. The branch's underground parking lot has 993 parking spaces, with 199 of them having charging piles.

Experts from the hospital will render their services to the west branch, either online or on-site, on a regular basis.
