Over the first nine months of this year, Dongfeng Fengshen (AEOLUS) E70, a production model launched by Dongfeng Motor Co based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), has achieved a year-on-year sales increase of nearly 40 percent, ranking first in the domestic commercial vehicle market.
In 2017, the electric version of E70 was rolled out, which is ideal for taxi and car-hailing drivers. The penetration rate of Dongfeng's new energy passenger vehicles is above the industry average.
Two years ago, Dongfeng released the pure electric E70 production model carrying solid-state batteries. The model has been used in Chongqing, Zunyi, Nanjing, Huangshi and another 16 cities in China.
It only takes two minutes for the E70 driver to swap batteries, saving about 60 charging hours monthly.
"What we sell is not only cars, but also full-life-span services, from wholesale, retail, finance, and insurance, to car rental and operating services," said Deng Liuchao, NEV sales manager of Dongfeng passenger cars. Dongfeng has signed cooperation contracts with more than 400 ride-hailing companies.
