The Geely Automobile Industrial College was unveiled on Oct 18 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The college was co-constructed by Hubei Land Resources Vocational College and Geely Auto Group Co – a leading automobile manufacturer based in Hangzhou as a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co.
The two sides promised to deepen enterprise-university cooperation, promote industry-education integration, and jointly cultivate high-quality automotive technicians.
Lin Naiting, a senior official in charge of the technician management of the group, said that new technologies and automobiles, such as new energy vehicles and flying cars, will lead the automobile industry, and talent is in high demand, which is why enterprise-university cooperation is strategically meaningful.
A high-level training base will be established in the new college. In addition, Geely will assign automotive experts to deliver lectures regularly, and students will be given the opportunity to be exposed to diverse application scenarios and get involved in real industrial cases.
The college is expected to cultivate 200 practical talents in smart manufacturing, industrial internet and the internet of things every year.
