WEDZ hosts first job fair for 2023

Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), also known as "China's Auto Valley", held its first recruitment fair of 2023 at the human resources industrial park on Jan 28.

A total of 51 enterprises in the zone, including Lotus Cars Ltd, Midea Group, Wescast Industrial Inc and Coca-Cola Co, took part in the job fair, offering over 4,300 jobs in different fields such as automobiles and components, food and beverage, electronic components and hotel services.

Over 90 types of positions were offered, including administrative manager, designer, financial staff member, project manager, workshop director, technical engineer, office clerk, quality inspector, logistics and production operator, among which production operator and sewing worker were the most in demand, with the monthly salary ranging from 5,000 yuan ($740.5) to 7,000 yuan.

"Earning a monthly salary of over 10,000 yuan is not a dream if you work as a front-line technical staff member for our company," said Yu Tian, who is in charge of the human resources department of MAHLE Filtration Systems (Hubei) Co. MAHLE (Hubei), invested in by Germany's MAHLE Group, is mainly engaged in automotive filtration system products for German-, American- and Japanese-made cars, as well as supporting services for Dongfeng, Chang'an automotive enterprises. The company plans to recruit 20-30 injection molding and punch workers, providing insurance, housing fund and shuttle buses. "Our company attaches great importance to talent training and offers staff member an ideal platform for career development," Yu added.

Pan Dezhi, who is experienced in auto coating, submitted his resume to MAHLE at the event, wishing to find a suitable job in the new year.

To boost employment, the WEDZ human resources bureau expects to host 15 events to satisfy enterprises' employment demands, assist businesses, stabilize employment and guarantee their production and operation.
