Global mobility solution provider, APTIV, established its connection system engineering center in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on March 1.
This is the first engineering center that the transnational corporation has set up in Central and West China. It will conduct R&D on high-speed data transmissions, automotive software and high-voltage charging systems.
"The Wuhan engineering center will be an important part of the company's global research layout," said Yang Xiaoming, APTIV's president in the Asian-Pacific Region. According to Yang, China currently has the world's largest automobile market, and it is a forerunner in automobile electrification.

APTIV was formerly known as Delphi, the world's giant auto part maker, which had established 131 manufacturing bases and 11 research centers in 48 countries and regions. It currently has more than 200,000 employees, including 22,000 scientists, engineers and technicians. Since 1993, it has set up over 20 plants in China, and it is now the biggest automotive wire harness provider in the nation.
