The 2023 workers' skill competition of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) opened on April 26, prior to the International Labor Day holiday, which will occur from April 29 to May 3 this year.

Several provincial and municipal winners of the May 1 Labor Medals were invited to attend the event. They encouraged the people attending the event to foster and cultivate the spirit of craftsmanship, which better will serve the high-quality development of the zone.

The competition will feature more than 600 contests focusing on production-based skills, intelligence skills and technology-based skills.

Since 2022, the zone's labor union has carried out 1,902 skill training sessions and 519 skill competitions, bringing a revenue of 169 million yuan ($24.61 million) to the zone.
